New Delhi: India-born high-flying model and US Miss World finalist Kanksha Mehta has just won herself another ticket to fame — the 19-year-old beauty was among the 113 people on the Turkish Airlines aircraft that was hijacked by a lone, unarmed Turk on Tuesday.
Kanksha, along with three other Asian beauty queens — from Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines — were the other contestants on their way home after participating in the 2006 Miss Globe International pageant held in southern Albania on Sunday.
Sources said Kanksha was initially supposed to be flying to New York. However, she later asked the organisers to book her ticket for the Turkish flight.
