New Delhi: With the Government opening up more international routes for private carriers, Jet Airways and Air Sahara will fly to more destinations, including China, Thailand and the Maldives.
The Civil Aviation Ministry on Tuesday approved the proposal for opening up the new routes and the carriers have also received an official notification, official sources said here on Wednesday. The London and U.S. routes have already been opened up for these carriers. However, neither is currently operating to the U.S. The sources said Jet Airways would operate seven flights each from Kolkata and Delhi to Bangkok every week. These operations were likely to begin in January 2007.
Air Sahara would operate to Guangzhou in China, Colombo and Malay (Maldives).
Indian also got the rights to operate a daily flight between Bangalore and Malay seven days a week and between Hyderabad and Singapore four times a week.
