Moscow: Russia's first private airlines Transaero begins today its biweekly flights between Moscow and Amritsar.
"For the first time in the history of relations between the two friendly nations, the direct regular flight would link Russia and its capital with one of the most wonderful cities of India, Amritsar, which is world centre of the Sikh religion and culture," Transaero said in a release. The flight on the Moscow-Amritsar-Moscow route will especially benefit passengers flying in and out of North America and Western Europe.
Transaero was the Russian first private airlines set up 15 years ago after the collapse of the former Soviet Union.
