Vasco: Yet another aircraft suffered bird hit today at the runway of the Dabolim airport. A few days ago, a flight of the Indian Airlines also suffered a bird hit at the airport.
Sources informed that the Jet Airways flight 9W 473 suffered a bird hit while landing at the Dabolim runway. However, the aircraft landed safely.
The sources said the incident occurred at around 3.45 p.m. The Jet Airways flight was coming from Mumbai to Goa carrying 152 passengers. While landing a bird hit the engine side of the aircraft.
The management of the Jet Airways managed to accommodate the stranded passengers at Dabolim airport in a flight of Kingfisher Airlines and other flights bound for Mumbai.
The aircraft lied grounded at the Dabolim tarmac till late in the evening, awaiting technicians to do repairs.
