Mumbai: The proposed merger of Air India (AI) and Indian will take some more time to see the light of the day. The Government has decided to refer the issue to a Committee of Secretaries (CoS). The panel will be headed by Cabinet Secretary BK Chaturvedi. The decision was taken by the empowered group of ministers (eGoM) looking into the proposed merger of the two public sector airlines.
The CoS report will be completed within two weeks after considering the recommendations of Accenture, the consultant appointed to assist the Government in the process, Aviation Minister Praful Patel said on Monday after a meeting of the eGoM. According to him, the eGoM has sought clarity on legal and financial implications of the merger.
