Air-India registers 11% growth in Doha local business

Air India registered a year-on-year growth of 11% in its business from Doha last year, its country manager Debashis Golder said.
Speaking at a ceremony held to honour its top-selling agents, Golder said the current year looked even better, with the results showing a 22% improvement up to October.
He thanked the travel trade, corporate sector and the media for their support.
Indian ambassador Dr George Joseph complimented the airline’s team for the good performance and thanked the trade for promoting India as a destination.
Sales manager Joseph Sebastian conducted the award ceremony. Mannai Travel won the Silver award, and the Gold went to Space Travel while the Platinum was awarded Tourist Travel Bureau.
Performance awards were given to Rayyan Travel, City Travel, Al-Qayed Travel, Trans Orient Air Services, Gulf Travel Agency and Regency Travel. Darwish Travel Bureau, the GSA for the airline, won the highest sales award. A special award was given to Qatar Tours for the highest growth shown during the first half of the year.
