Dharamshala: A long awaited convenient travel option for people traveling between Delhi and Dharamshala is now available. Air Deccan announced the launch of daily flights between Delhi and Pathankot, which is four-hour bus and two-hour car journey from Dharamshala.
The new flight commenced operation from 22 November 2006, according to a media release of the Air Deccan.
Dharamshala is one of the India's major tourist attractions, yet until yesterday it does not have airline facility. The place is a popular rest stop for tourists and mountain climbers, heading towards the Himalayas.
Earlier people have to take an overnight or day bus from Delhi, which takes about 12 to 14 hours to reach here. Another alternative is to take a twelve-hour train trip from Delhi to Pathankot.
