Mumbai: Deputy chief minister R R Patil is reportedly miffed with governor S M Krishna for not being allowed to use the helipad at Raj Bhavan.
On Monday, while chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was permitted to take off to Pune in a private copter from Raj Bhavan, Patil was allegedly denied the privilege.
"This is not the first time that the Raj Bhavan has discriminated against Patil,"an official in the deputy CM's office told TOI on Wednesday.
On November 6, Sitaram Kunte, secretary to the governor, had issued a circular stating that only the governor himself, the CM and the deputy CM could use the helipad—that, too, if they were taking the government helicopter.
Kunte's circular notes that Krishna had decided to restrict the use of the helipad for security reasons since Raj Bhavan plays host round-the-clock to VVIPs.
