New Delhi: Official Finnish airline Finnair, in a promotional campaign after launching last month its maiden service linking Helsinki and New Delhi, Thursday brought here the 'real' Santa Claus from the Arctic Circle.
"I am here to bring cheer and happiness. India is a land dear to me. I get millions of letters from here every year in my home at Lapland in Finland," 'Santa Claus' said with the trademark sparkling and serene smile.
According to the Finnish folklore, Santa Claus is not a mythical figure but exists in flesh and blood in Lapland. "Santa Claus is the brand ambassador of Finnair," Taina Tornstrom, director (Indian subcontinent) of Finnair, told IANS.
Finnair president J.A. Hienonen said: "Finnair, which started with a frequency of three flights a week, will expand it by the summer of 2007 to at least five times a week.
