Chennai: A team of five global design architects from Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and the United Kingdom visited the Chennai airport on Tuesday for assessing the proposed site for a second domestic terminal adjacent to the Kamaraj Domestic Terminal.
The architects went around the five-acre site adjacent to the arrival hall of the terminal and the Airports Authority of India administrative office complex. "The architects will submit a detailed report within two months along with the futuristic design of the new domestic terminal-II to the top management of the AAI in New Delhi. The new domestic terminal-II, along with other expansion in the international terminal, is being done at the initiative of K. Ramalingam, Chairman of AAI," Airport Director Dinesh Kumar told The Hindu on Tuesday.
