In a bid to attract long-haul flights to Berlin, Berlin Airport is offering Indian airliners the new Germany-Berlin gateway for launching flights into Europe and US, reports Business Line.
As per the package, airlines from India will pay only 20% of the airport costs during the first year of operation, which would progressively be increased to full cost recovery during the fourth year of operations.
Initially, the airlines will only have to pay for security and infrastructure charges, the team leader, aviation marketing, Berlin Airport, Simon R. Miller told the newspaper.
This proposal will help the flights by Indian carriers to capture not only the German market but also offer easy connections to different parts of Europe.
