Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) is well ahead of its turnaround timetable and there is tremendous upside to the national carrier’s business, its managing director Idris Jala said.
“We have completed 120% of the things we set out to do. A lot of the things we done this year, is actually what we had planned to do next year and I am very pleased with the push the MAS team has made,” he said.
“Our job is to keep delivering and the results would come and make shareholders happy,” he said on the sidelines of the Third Annual Asia Pacific and Middle East Aviation Outlook Summit in Singapore on Nov 10.
Jala also said the company would sign a special pro-rate agreement with Indian low-cost carrier Kingfisher soon for a hub and spoke concept to 17 destinations in India where it does not currently fly to.
MAS operates to five Indian cities Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
