New Delhi: Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai Saturday called upon Indian companies to invest in his country and take advantage of tremendous opportunities in energy, transport, financial services and construction sectors.
"I am here to call for investors to come to Afghanistan," Karzai said in his address to a business meet organised by top Indian industry chambers at Delhi.
He said there were opportunities for Indian private airlines to set up operations in Afghanistan.
Karzai assured to study the possibility of a better road link between the two countries.
With regard to the Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan pipeline project that India is likely to join, Karzai said there was a lot of interest in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to join the venture as well.
