Jaipur: IANS Rajasthan exporters have requested the civil aviation ministry to increase the number of flights serving the state to help increase exports.
The Federation of Rajasthan Exporters (FORE), an apex body of exporters' associations in the state, in a letter to Civil Minister Praful Patel said that inadequate infrastructure was hitting exports from the state.
It has pointed out that a number of flights like the Delhi-Jaipur-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer flight have been withdrawn, though Jodhpur is a major hub for handicrafts and Jaisalmer is a well-known tourist destination.
A flight linking Jaipur with Bangkok has also been discontinued, the letter said.
There is only one Indian airlines flight from Delhi to Jaipur and that too in the morning. 'We request that two more flights between Delhi and Jaipur be launched,' the FORE said.
