'Kuwati pilot did not
know english well'
Airport sources pointed out that the
flight had taken off from IGI airport
early on Monday morning and the
pilot turned left after take-off instead
of moving to the right which was the
assigned flight path. It turned out that
the pilot had inadvertently turned left
and there was no motive attached to it.
The flight returned to its normal
course before it could even enter the
no-fly zone," the airport official said.
Though the ATC was quick in
responding to the incident, ministry
officials said the airline pilot had to
be instructed thrice by ATC before
he exited from the no-fly zone. A
preliminary inquiry revealed that
the pilot could not communicate with
the ATCs as he had limited knowledge
of English.

The pilot, however, corrected course following warnings by air traffic control, official sources said, adding that the airline had tendered an apology for the "inadvertent mistake".
The sources said the aircraft, which took off at 0615 hours, turned left instead of right, which was its scheduled flight path.
"The chapter is closed", the sources said, adding that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation would enquire into the matter.
This is the second such instance of an aircraft entering the no-fly zone in the past few months.
