Margao: All India Congress Committee Secretary Sidharth Patel has said that work on upgradation of the Dabolim airport would begin soon with the Union government asking the Navy to hand over the required land to the Airport Authority of India immediately.
Addressing a mammoth convention of Cuncolim Congress worker at Panzorconne, Patel said the Navy has been clearly told to hand over land to the Airport Authority at a meeting held by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president and Naval officials. “We will develop the Dabolim airport to meet the requirements. Work on the upgradation will commence soon,” Patel said.
The AICC secretary further said that the Congress would work tirelessly with the aim of bringing all round development of Goa and make it the No 1 State in the country.
