Kingfisher Airlines Ltd., the only Indian carrier that has ordered Airbus SAS's A380 plane, said it's discussing compensation for the delayed delivery of the world's biggest commercial aircraft.
The delivery of the double-decker plane to Kingfisher, owned by India's biggest brewer, has been delayed by at least 10 months from the original 2010 timetable, Kingfisher Chairman Vijay Mallya told reporters in New Delhi today. There will ``definitely'' be compensation for the delay, Mallya said.
``The economics of the aircraft still remains intact, so we are not going to cancel,'' Mallya said.
The exact compensation Kingfisher would get hasn't been fixed yet, Mallya said today.
Airbus has agreed to pay 1 billion rupees ($22 million) to Kingfisher as compensation for the delayed deliveries of its A380s, the Economic Times said Oct. 6, citing Mallya.
