Mumbai: With six passengers dying at the city airport over the last few weeks, major airlines on Monday apportioned blame on the travellers for not revealing details of their health condition. The latest incident happened on Sunday when a jaundice patient collapsed at the airport after he alighted from a Kingfisher aircraft following complaints of uneasiness.
The 53-year-old Manikchand Jain, who was on his way to Chennai after undergoing treatment at a city hospital, died due to cardiac arrest at the airport lounge. Airline officials said non-compliance of submission of medical reports was making it difficult for the carriers to provide timely medical help and take necessary precautionary measures on board or at the airport.
As many as six deaths occurred at the city airport over the last few weeks raising concerns among the travelling public.
