Kolkata: An anonymous call to the Delhi office of Indian Airlines about bombs planted in two flights to Guwahati from Kolkata turned out to be a hoax, officials here said.
An Indian spokesman told reporters that following the call early this morning, authorities of the airline alerted its office here which, in turn, informed security agencies.
The call was traced to Kolkata and a person has been detained for interrogation, the spokesman said.
The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad swung into action after being alerted by Indian. The security agencies, however, declared the call a hoax.
