New Delhi: The Delhi Airport had been shrouded in dense fog since Tuesday night but the situation is finally getting better.
Airport authorities and airlines are now busy coping with the backlog of flights, which could not take off last night due to the fog with runway visibility falling to just 1,200 meters.
Flights have now started taking off and as many as 16 flights, eight incoming and eight outgoing have been cancelled.
Among the cancelled are Kingfisher flights from Delhi-Kolkata IT-60, Kolkata-Delhi IT-602 and Delhi-Mumbai IT-306.
Indian Airlines flights Delhi-Nagpur IC-871 and Delhi-Jaipur IC-896 have been cancelled.
But four Indian flights have also managed to take off under the CAT 3 B landing system. Two Indian flights have landed under CAT 3B.
Almost all airlines had to divert their flights on Tuesday night to Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Kolkata including international flights.
