The Airport Authority of India has shortlisted 5 consultants from the 11 who had expressed their interest to assist in the selection of Joint Venture Partners(JVP) for the city side development of the non-metro airports. This information was given by Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation in the Parliament today.
It may be recalled that the AAI had identified 35 Non-Metro Airports for modernization. They are Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Guwahati, Jaipur, Udaipur, Trivandrum, Lucknow, Goa, Madurai, Mangalore, Agatti, Aurangabad, Khajuraho, Rajkot, Vadodara, Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur, Vishakapatnam, Trichy, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Patna, Port Blair, Varanasi, Agartala, Dehradun, Imphal, Ranchi, Raipur, Agra, Chandigarh, Dimapur, Jammu and Pune.
For the preparation of the Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) which included preparation of Master Plans, identification of development works concerning Terminal Buildings and Air side, Land Use Plan and Commercial Development for enhancement of non aeronautical revenue and to prepare Business and Financial Plan for these airports, the AAI had appointed five groups of Global Technical Advisors (GTAs) and Indian Financial Consultants (IFCs). Each group comprising of a GTA and IFC conducted the studies in respect of a set of five airports. For the remaining 10 non-metro Airports, the TEFR is being done by AAI itself.
Based on the TEFRs of the consultants, AAI had invited Expressions of Interests from consultants to assist in selection of JVPs for city side development of these airports.
