New Delhi: The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been monitoring the aircraft operations at the IGI Airport round the clock. The DGCA personally convened a meeting of the Delhi International Airports Ltd. (DIAL) and the ATC at midnight yesterday to review the fog situation and the preparedness of the ATC and DIAL.
The Government through the DGCA is also contemplating to introduce CAT-II training syllabus for all pilots seeking endorsement on jet type aircraft.
The Government also proposes to install CAT-II system at Amritsar, Lucknow & Jaipur Airports so that they can be used as secondary airports during fog.
On reviewing the CAT-II/III compliance pilots of the respective airlines, the DGCA has made changes in the winter schedules of the airlines and has rescheduled 13 departures and cancels six departures; rescheduled 17 arrivals and cancelled 3 of the total number of flights ex-Delhi proposed in the winter season of 2006-07.
Thus while none of the flights of Indian Airlines have been rescheduled or cancelled, 2 of Alliance Air, 5 of Sahara Airlines, 15 of Air Deccan, 7 of Kingfisher Airlines, 4 of Spice Jet, 1 of GoAir have been rescheduled/cancelled.
