Mumbai: The Bombay High Court recently dismissed a public interest litigation against the chairman of Jet Airways, Naresh Goyal, which alleged that he had links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Chota Shakeel and this nexus could hamper national security.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice HS Bedi and Justice VM Kanade, held that while the petitioner Dr M Furquan had complained about the alleged nexus to the state's investigating agencies, he had not given them enough time to take action.
The bench further stated in it's order that though the allegations were serious and had wide ramifications, the PIL was being dismissed with leave to file a further application if no action was taken in a reasonable period of time.
