New Delhi: Air-India is planning to set up its aircraft maintenance base at Thiruvananthapuram and Delhi at an estimated cost of Rs 500 million, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told Lok Sabha today.
Project management consultants for the Thiruvananthapuram base are likely to be appointed by the end of next month, Patel said. For the Delhi base, the process of appointment of management consultants is in progress, he said.
The minister said, 15 acres of land has been acquired by Air-India in Thiruvananthapuram for the proposed base, while land is already available for the one in Delhi. The proposed maintenance base in Thiruvananthapuram is likely to be completed by March, Patel said.
