Jagson grounds national flight

New Delhi: Plans of Delhi-based feeder airline Jagson to launch a country-wide scheduled low-cost operations have been nipped in the bud.
Given the competitive scenario in the Indian aviation sector, the non-scheduled airline, which connects several stations in North such as Kullu, Simla, Dharamshala, Jodhpur and Nainital, finds the launch of a national network unviable.
Rejiging its plans, the airline is now looking at having a regional airline early next year.
Its application for launch of scheduled operations is still pending with Director General of Civil Aviation, and Mr Gupta claims that they are not pursuing it for the time being.
Most of the 50-odd strong team of engineers, planners, marketing and sales personnel put together to kick-start the low-cost operations has been virtually disbanded over the last two months. Though Jagson’s president UK Bose, ex-Air Sahara CEO, is still with the company, industry sources indicated that he too may quit soon.
