Panaji: In the wake of looming terror threats and heavy passenger traffic during Christmas and New Year, visitors have been barred from entering Dabolim airport in south Goa from December 24 to January 2.
Israeli government had recently issued a travel advisory asking its nationals not to visit Goa because of security threats in the state. Dabolim airport director Paul Manickam said,"Visitors will not be allowed to enter the airport from December 24 to January 2 because of security alert and hike in passenger traffic. A second frisking for baggage has already been introduced and more security personnel deployed."
