New Delhi: Around 300 Airport Authority of India (AAI) union members today staged a protest at the Delhi airport over transfers of some employees.
AAI unions protested the transfer orders claiming that GMR-led consortium modernising the airport had no authority to transfer them.
“We understand they have to take quick decisions and take care of passenger comfort but they don’t take us into confidence. The issue would have turned very serious if GMR did not assure us they will address the issue. If these problems are not resolved, we may also force closure of the airport”, said M K Ghoshal, President Airport Authority of India Employees Union, Delhi.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) later withdrew the transfer orders.
