Aerosud to supply A320's galleys to Indigo

Cape Town: Local aviation company Aerosud, which already has long-term contracts worth more than R4 billion with key clients such as Airbus, Boeing and BAE Systems, is about to increase its order book as world airlines modernise and expand their fleets.
Aerosud is the sole supplier of some A320 parts and shares production of others with a French company. Aerosud group managing director Paul Potgieter said orders had risen steadily since 2001 when it started making Airbus parts.
This has helped boost the Centurion-based firm's workforce from 160 in 2000 to about 500. Further growth is expected to boost staff numbers to 700.
Potgieter said that in addition to making wing parts and avionics racks for the A320, Aerosud was an Airbus-approved supplier of galleys and other interior products.
It had recently received an order from Indian low-cost carrier Air Indigo to supply galleys for 25 new A320s. Air Indigo has an option to buy 75 more A320s, a move likely to increase orders for galleys.
