The empowered group of ministers or EGoM, headed by external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee, is expected to meet today to take a decision on the proposed merger of the two government owned carriers - Air India and Indian.
The global consultants to the process have already submitted their report to the EGoM for their consideration.
The consultants report has laid out all the possible options to the merger process including floating of a new merged Airlines.
The cost analysis done by the consultants show that this is the most feasible option as compared to merging Air India to Indian or vice versa.
