Delhi Fog hits flight operations the worst

New Delhi: The Capital got enveloped in a dense fog cover on the night of December 31, disrupting all transport services and hitting flight operations the worst.
Runway visibility at the Indira Gandhi International airport kept fluctuating between zero to 10 metres through the night as fog rose to unprecedented levels, suspending the landing and take-off of all flights.
While the landing of at least 23 domestic flights was delayed leading to diversions to other places, four international flights were also diverted.
At least two domestic flights were also reported to be grounded.
Hundreds of commuters on their way to the airport were also stranded and vehicles moved slowly on the roads with fog lamps on.
Meanwhile at the airport, confused passengers thronged the airline authorities for help and explanations.
