Ranchi: The competition in the skies over the state capital is gaining momentum.
While Air Deccan has decided to fly Delhi-Patna-Ranchi-Delhi on Sundays also, making it five days a week, other airlines have also shown interest in linking Ranchi, Calcutta and Delhi.
MDLR Airways is scheduled to start Delhi-Ranchi-Calcutta-Ranchi-Delhi flights from February while Indigo and Kingfisher are also likely to link Ranchi with Delhi and Calcutta shortly.
Besides, Air One has applied permission to station a helicopter in Ranchi.
Air Deccan has been requested to operate the flight seven days a week, Birsa Munda airport station director A.V. Krishna said.
Indigo is scheduled to start its Delhi-Ranchi-Delhi operation twice daily from March 1, the director said.
Kingfisher is expected to start operations as soon as it imports more planes.
