Mumbai: India's GMR Infrastructure Ltd. expects its airport projects revenue to reach 7 billion rupees in 2006/07 and drive consolidated revenue and profit growth in the coming quarters, an official said.
A company unit, which began managing the New Delhi international airport in May 2006, would start deriving revenue from duty-free shops at the terminal next month and from advertising spaces in April, Chief Financial Officer Madhu Terdal said.
"There will be a real impact in the coming quarters and the margins should improve," he told Reuters on Wednesday.
The airport business, which now has a net profit margin of 13 percent, contributed 44 percent to the company's revenue of 3.7 billion rupees in October-December quarter.
The company, which has interests in power and roads and airports, reported a 43 percent rise in October-December net profit to 687.5 million rupees.
