Dubai: The authorities here have questioned industrialist Nusli Wadia after an undeclared firearm was recovered from his baggage at the airport.
The incident took place on January 13 after Mr. Wadia's arrival from Mumbai by an Air India flight. A revolver and some cartridges were found in the baggage.

Fixing responsibility
Mumbai: The CISF, which is in charge
of security at the airport, says it only
checks the hand baggage of passengers.
Checked-in luggage is the responsibility
of the airline which checks all baggage
as soon as one enters an airport.
When asked about whether Wadia
may have had certain perks as a VIP,
they say the Government of India issues
all airlines a list of VIPs who are neither
frisked before they board the plane nor
is their hand baggage screened. But
Wadia is not on that list.
With the finger firmly pointing to Air
India, the airline came up with a bland
statement."At Air India, security is
our topmost priority. We have taken a
serious view of this incident. Based on
initial inquiries, the person who was in
charge of handling the X-ray of the
baggage has been suspended.
"We are investigating the matter further.
Strict action will be taken against any
other person/persons if found guilty,"
the statement said.

Diplomatic sources told The Hindu that neither the Indian embassy nor the consulate here was involved in dealing with the incident. "Consular access was not sought, and the local authorities did not bring up the issue with the mission," they said.
Mr. Wadia's spokesperson confirmed that the baggage included a licensed firearm which had been placed there inadvertently by a domestic help.
Mr. Wadia was not detained. Mr. Wadia could claim the weapon at the time of his departure.
