Indian announces e-ticketing

Chennai: India's leading carrier Indian airlines Thursday announced a tie-up for the e-ticketing facility for its customers to simplify procedures for issuing tickets.
'Indian is pleased to have chosen Galileo as its major GDS partner for paper-less ticketing. E-tickets will be issued for flights departing from six metros and 11 major cities,' Indian chairman and managing director Vishwapati Trivedi told reporters.
'The initiative will not only help us simplify the business but will also result in extra convenience to passengers,' he said.
According to Bruce Hanna, COO of Galileo India, the e-ticketing measure will help travel agents enhance their efficiency and productivity as it will cut down ticketing requirements and consequently printing of flight coupons.
