Vadodara: In order to ease the increasing traffic at international airports in Mumbai and Dehli, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) is planning to develop night parking facilities for aircrafts at airports located in the cities near to these international airports. As part of this strategy, Vadodara will soon have a night parking facility to ease traffic congestion at Mumbai airport.
Speaking to FE, Amit Bajpai, director, Vadodara airport, said, “We have already set the ball the rolling for setting up night parking facility at Vadodara airport. Tenders have also been issued and we intend to make it functional as soon as possible”.
The proposed night parking facility is likely to cost around Rs 13 crore and initially, the proposed facility will have the capacity to accommodate eight aircrafts. In addition to this, AAI also plans to set up a cargo facility at Vadodara.
