Manama: Air India Express, the low cost version and a subsidiary of Air India, will start operations to Bahrain on March 25, it was revealed yesterday.
It will increase the number of Air India flights between Bahrain and India from seven to 11 a week, said country manager for Bahrain and Jordan D Debesh.
Ticket fares will be at least 20 per cent cheaper than the current fares when the new flights start, he told the GDN.
"We shall add Mangalore as a new destination from Bahrain," said Mr Debesh.
Under the new operational pattern, there will be four flights to Mumbai, five flights to Cochin and Calicut, two to Mangalore and one to Trivandrum.
