Fort Worth: American Eagle, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add nonstop service between Chicago O'Hare International Airport and Shreveport Regional Airport beginning April 10.
American Eagle will operate round-trip service between the two cities using a 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jet.
"This service will be American Eagle's fourth new route to Louisiana over the past 18 months," said American Eagle President Peter Bowler. "Our service from Shreveport to Chicago will give residents of Northwest Louisiana convenient connections throughout the Midwest, as well as one-stop service to Europe, China and India."
"This is an important boost to the economy of northwest Louisiana," said Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.). "In addition to providing new convenience for thousands of travelers, these flights between Shreveport and American Airlines' major hub in Chicago will open new avenues for commerce linking the region to markets around the country and the world. This and other routes added in the last 18 months demonstrate Louisiana's increasing role in our domestic and international commercial economy."
