Mangalore: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has declared 2007 as the year of e-governance. The AAI in association with Syndicate Bank will implement the e-payment facility at Bajpe airport, here, in the next two months, said Durga Shanker Mishra, Chief Vigilance Officer, AAI, on Wednesday.
He was speaking to presspersons at the airport on the sidelines of a function organised to present the national "Best fire station award for 2004" to Bajpe airport.
The airport bagged the award for category five, six and seven fire tender services.
Mishra said that the AAI would make the best use of information technology (IT) in governing its airports in the country from this year. Once the e-payment facility was introduced at Bajpe airport it would help passengers, airline operators, contractors and pilots, he said.
