Canadian specialised aircraft solutions provider Bombardier is seriously looking at India for setting up a service centre for its business jets.
The company has so far sold four business jets - two to the Government of India and one each to Reliance Industries and the Raymond group.
Derek Gilmour, vice-president, Specialised Aircraft Solutions, Bombardier feels that this is a well-timed move.
Analysts feel that the corporate houses are not only busy expanding their global footprint, off late they have started making their presence felt in the sky as well.
By the end of calendar 2006, the corporate India has bought at least 122 business aircraft of which at least 15 were sold in 2006, according to market estimates.
During the last two-three years, there had been a significant shift in the user category of the business aircraft in India.
This is evident from the fact that during the first three days of Aero India 2007, US-based Raytheon Aircraft, the maker of Hawker and Beechcraft sold five business jets, including one Hawker 850XP, three Beechcraft King Airs and one Beechcraft Premier IA.
