Vasco: The Civil Aviation Minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader, Mr Praful Patel today said the civil aviation ministry would provide funds for expansion of the Dabolim airport.
Addressing NCP workers’ convention in the city, Mr Patel informed that the Dabolim airport would be opened for air traffic for 24 hours which would help improve Goan economy.
Informing that the number of foreign tourists arriving in India is around 40 lakh, he said that efforts should be made to increase this number. He said that his ministry was trying to strengthen tourism sector in Goa through infrastructure.
He disclosed that the civil aviation ministry has invested crores of rupees in the civil aviation industry, and added that over 50 lakh jobs would be generated in the aviation sector in next ten years.
