Travellers with babies choosing to fly with Indian airline or Kingfisher are likely to find Delhi airport more child-friendly now. To cater to the demands of the younger generation, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has overhauled the dingy, cramped surroundings of the Childcare Room in Terminal 1-A to make their wait a little more comfortable.
From big cut-outs of Walt Disney characters to a cupboard full of toys, DIAL has decided to go all out to ensure that these "tough customers'' are well taken care of.
A cheery room, it has, apart from Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse welcoming visitors, furniture especially meant for kids. There is a cot and a high chair for children and a sofa for mothers waiting for their flight. Offering parents as well as children some privacy, the room is just one more step to providing basic services to passengers. With the Childcare Room only in Terminal 1-A at the moment, passengers travelling by other private airlines will have to wait for the new building to be constructed.
