Jammu: A consumer forum in Jammu has directed Jet Airways to pay compensation of Rs 20,000 to a passenger who suffered harassment and mental agony at the hands of airways at Delhi Airport.
The complainant shall also be paid Rs 2000/- as litigation expenses. The amount shall be paid by jet-airways by depositing before the Forum within 30 days.
Neelam Gupta wife of Deepak Gupta, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, the complainant said that the husband of complainant booked a seat for complainant in jet-airways flight back from Delhi to Jammu for June 30. The ticket was marked okay for June 30, 2003 well in advance. The complainant reached Delhi Airport well in time and on showing the ticket was not issued any boarding pass by the staff of Jet-Airways. The complainant was despite possessing and Okay ticket was not allowed to board the flight, she was put to an unexpected restraint and on frantic efforts and enquiries was told by the staff that due to some exigency no seat is booked for the complainant. The complainant shocked and dismay over the attitude of staff of jet-airways and bought another ticket for some of Rs 4985/-.
