New Delhi: Thanks to a galloping economy and the India Rising phenomenon, high-end private jets are becoming tools and not toys.
The flying machines are not just for passengers who have the money, but also for those who are short on patience and time when it comes to commercial airlines.
In the league of sleek jets is the Rs 180-crore private jet—Gulfstream IV that offers luxury, status, style besides wine and caviar on menu as you fly.
“People who fly for more than 300 hours a month should own a plane,” suggests Indo Pacific Aviation, the company that sells luxury private jets.
Owning the Rs 180 crore jet means a fixed costs of Rs 40 lakhs a month that includes pilot’s salary, insurance and landing/parking charges. The variable costs like fuel and navigation add a little more—about Rs 1 lakh for an hour!
