Taneja Aerospace & Aviation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PSU engineering major Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) at the recently concluded Aero India 2007. The company has signed the agreement in order to explore the aeronautical `offset` opportunities in the defence and civilian sectors and also the development opportunities in the domestic market.
Taneja Aerospace and Aviation, a part of the India Seamless group, started out in 1994 as the first private sector company to manufacture general aviation aircraft. Its focus has been to promote affordable aviation in the country. As part of its general aviation business, it manufactures and sells the P68C, a twin piston 6 seat aircraft.
