Muscat: The maiden flight IX830 which is scheduled to take off from Cochin to Abu Dhabi - Muscat - Mangalore will be commanded by Captain Puneet Parikh and co-piloted by Captain Harish Gupta. Today, both these pilots were flown into Cochin from Delhi prior to operating the flight tomorrow.
When we spoke to him over the telephone, Captain Parikh was extremely upbeat on commanding the maiden flight from Abu Dhabi ? Muscat to Mangalore. Hailing from Jaipur and being an ex-Air Force personnel, he has 4,000 flying hours to his credit. He has also been flying the Dubai-Mangalore sector quite often and is very familiar with the Mangalore airport.
Captain Harish Gupta, who will be flying as co-pilot on the maiden flight, hails from Delhi, is a Calicut based crew and has 1,100 hours of flying hours to his credit. Captain Gupta said he considered it a privilege to fly the first flight from Abu Dhabi - Muscat to Mangalore.
