Thiruvananthapuram: It's been confirmed there were seven Keralites on the ill-fated Kenyan Airways flight that crashed in southern Cameroon but their relatives here were yet to get any direct, official confirmation on the fate of their dear ones.
The Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry has identified following Keralites on the passenger list: Kocheri George Joseph, 59, wife Maria Joseph, 53, Kevin Joseph Nigli, 55, wife Shirly Nigli, 52, Nalakathu Gireesh, 58, Mary Ruby Paul and Immanuel Gracy.
Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi told Kerala-based TV channels in New Delhi that his Ministry would make arrangements to fly bereaved relatives to Nairobi. He had asked the Indian High Commission at Nairobi to send him updates on Indian casualties.
In addition to seven names confirmed by the Ministry, there was one Madhusoodanan and family on board the ill-fated flight.
Ajith Koladi, the president of the South Indian Association in Cameroon, told a local channel that he believed the Madhusoodanan family had roots in Kerala.
