New Delhi: Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) politburo member Brinda Karat escaped death on Sunday night when the flight in which she was travelling averted a crash at last minute at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, a website has claimed.
"IC 802 from Chennai would have landed into the Jet Airways, which backtracked on the runway even after getting a take off clearance from the air traffic control (ATC)," the website politicsparty.com said.
The website's chairman, Board of Editors Siddhartha was also in the IC 802 flight.
The alert pilot of the IC 802 and the ATC at the IGI Airport realized in the nick of time the inevitable crash, and decided to abort the landing of the flight, the website said.
The pilot of the IC 802 gave a full thrust and zoomed the flight skyward thus saving lives of hundred passengers and crewmembers, it added.
