False fire alarm on Bangalore-bound flight


Mumbai: A Jet Airways aircraft reported fire in one of its engines shortly before take-off from Mumbai airport on Tuesday. The fire alarm was, however, a false onee and the flight was later cleared for take-off.
Airport officials said the alarm went off at 6.44am when flight 9W 411 was on the runway and about to take off for Bangalore. According to airport officials, the fire alarm of the aircraft went off.
The pilot immediately notified the airport officials. "The pilot reported fire in the second engine.
The aircraft was immediately asked to go to the parking bay," said an official. The aircraft vacated the runway through taxiway N9.
