Man wanted by Interpol flees from Kolkata airport

Kolkata: An internationally wanted man with an Interpol lookout notice against him managed to slip away from the city airport after an immigration officer, instead of detaining him, left him unattended.
The Union home ministry has issued a probe into the lapse.
Kamaruzamman, a citizen of Belize, a country in the northeastern coast of Central America bordering Mexico and Guatemala, had reported at the international terminal on Thursday evening to board a Dhaka-bound Air India flight. He was accompanied by five family members.
After collecting boarding passes from the check-in desk, he proceeded to immigration for the exit stamp, which formally allows a person to leave the country.
