Kochi: The Minister of State for Civil Aviation K C Venugopal could not fly to Delhi on Sunday evening as he had arrived late for the flight. The Air India flight was scheduled to take off at 8 pm while he arrived at the airport just five minutes before the scheduled take-off time.
Although the captain agreed to reopen the door of the aircraft,CIAL Operations Centre denied check-in permission to the minister, citing the DGCA norm that no passenger shlould be allowed to take the flight after 20 minutes of schedule reporting time.
